Barbara Ann Corcoran
Barbara Ann Corcoran is an American businesswoman. She founded The Corcoran Group, a real estate brokerage located in New York City, which she sold to NRT for $66 million in 2001 and shortly thereafter , the company was sold. Corcoran was one of the first Shark Tank investors. She has appeared in every season of ABC's Shark Tank. By February 2020, she had closed 53 deals. One of them was a $350,000 investment to Coverplay at 40 percent. Corcoran was second in the family of 10 children who was born in Edgewater. Florence, Corcoran's mother, was a homemaker. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. was her father. He was constantly switching jobs throughout Corcoran's career. Sometimes, the family relied on the delivery of food that was free from a friendly local grocer. Corcoran says her father was a drunk who treated her mother with disrespectful and disrespect. Corcoran struggled with her education and was later diagnosed with dyslexia. Corcoran began high school at St. Cecilia High School Englewood after she had left her Catholic elementary school. Corcoran was proficient in several classes during her first year. She was transferred to Leonia High School and graduated with a D.
