Kamala Harris
Kamala Devi Harris was born on October 20, 1964. She is an American politician. Kamala Devi Harris is the first female vice presidency and the highest-ranking female politician in U.S history. A part of the Democratic Party, she previously was the attorney general of California from 2011 until 2017 and also as an United States senator representing California from 2017 until 2021. Harris was born and raised in Oakland, California. Her career began in the Alameda County District Attorney's Office. Harris was later recruited to the San Francisco District Attorney's Office. In 2003 she was elected as San Francisco's district attorney. She was appointed Attorney General of California in 2010, and then re-elected in 2014. Harris was the United States junior senator from California from 2017 until 2021. Harris beat Loretta Santiago in the 2016 Senate election making her the 2nd African American woman to serve in Congress , and the only South Asian American American to be elected to the United States Senate.
